The 2023 Manly Wade Wellman Award for North Carolina Science Fiction and Fantasy covers science fiction and fantasy novels published in 2022 by North Carolina authors. As in previous years, the eligibility list was maintained in the form of a Goodreads bookshelf.

Friday, June 30, 2023: The shortlist of finalists was announced.

Friday, July 14, 2023: The winner will be announced as part of the opening ceremonies at ConGregate 9.
